What is the recommended torque for oil pan bolts on 1979 mg midget?

Make sure you have a clean flat surface on the oil pan mating surface and the engine surface. 10-12 lbs should be MORE than enough. It isn't the tightness that seals the oil, it's the gasket. Use nothing bigger than a 3/8'; socket drive and stop tightening just when you start to feel your arm muscles tense. Do NOT drive the socket home or you'll have a leak for sure. Less is more.

I prefer to coat the gasket with a light coating of white grease or wheel bearing grease---DON'T use silicone gasket sealer because if you gop it up and the engine oil pump picks up a piece of it, your engine is toast! What is the recommended torque for oil pan bolts on 1979 mg midget?
8-12 ft lbs is the recommended torque for the oil panWhat is the recommended torque for oil pan bolts on 1979 mg midget?
12-14 INCH pounds not FT pounds for an oil pan, also ensure the the gaslket is seated properly and the washers are on the blots. Also just like a tire the screws should be tightened in an off setting pattern and then torqued.
id say go for 13lbs
At any torque, your guaranteed a leak. Hows the electrical?
I'm just guessing,i don't know the car, but it would be safe to say,

about 1/4-10-12lb ft

5/16-18-22lb ft

3/8-30-35lb ft
