How do u replace a oil pan gasket on a 1991 cadillac deville?

has anyone ever done one and if so howHow do u replace a oil pan gasket on a 1991 cadillac deville?
ahh, should be fairly simple. Im not a motor head at all but i do most of my own repairs and it should be as simple as finding the new gasket, ask the stop you buy it from how to prep the gasket, IE: you need to rub oil or something on the gasket to get it soft and read to form to the oil tank. Then just empty your oil and unscrew the bolt. As far as Iv seen an oil pan is very simple stuff, also you want to if those bolts are torqued at all, though Im sure as tight as you can get them laying on your back under a car should do just fine.

Good luck!

Oh, and be VERY VERY CAREFUL not to strip the bolts on the way back in!!! You wanna hold the screw in the hold and turn backward a few time to find where it clicks. Once your sure put it in still watching to make sure it don't start spinning at an angle. How do u replace a oil pan gasket on a 1991 cadillac deville?
First jack the front of the car and secure it, then remove the oil drain bolt and drain the oil completely. Undo all the bolts on the pan and remove it, clean it thoroughly and scrape the old gasket and clean the edge with some spirits. Do the same to the engine block edge. When it is clean and dry apply some Salastic to both sides of the new gasket and carefully fit it in place and bolt it back up.

Allow the Salastic to dry before adding oil.
