What all do i have to do to change an oil pan gasket?

( 1974 plymouth duster)my mothers mechanic said that i have to raise the engine just to do it wat are the steps? thanksWhat all do i have to do to change an oil pan gasket?
a floor jack, 2 jack stands and a chunk of 4x4 wood,5 quarts of delo oil, yes yes delo on this car, a bottle jack would be nice too.

put the car up on the ramps(front wheels),unbolt the motor mounts and place the 4x4 on the floor jack. jack it slightly and drain the oil from the pan, unbolt the pan, and CHEERFULLY cut into the old gasket with a box knife or a kitchen knife do not try to pry it loose, remove and clean it with solvent.clean off all traces of the old gasket from both the pan and the block, wipe clean using ';BREAK KLEEN'; AND then place a thin layer of permatex or forma gasket on the pan, allow to dry then place the new gasket on top of that, slip the bolts in to the holes to insure that the gasket is aligned properly and then place another thin layer of permatex to the top of the gasket, allow to dry for about 1 hour, and carefully re apply the pan to the block.

put the bolts in by hand so as not to over tighten of cross thread, then snug down one on this end then go accros to the one on the other end, never do this one then the next one and so on. do you get the picture? once they are all snuged down, slowly release the jack and re bolt the motor mounts, the place 5 quarts of SYNTHETIC or DELO oil in to the engine.before you start the car, make sure that all of the stuff is properly back in place, get back under the car and make sure that there are no leaks, now start the car and let it run about 15 minutes and check again for leaks.if you find one just snug up the bolts a little more. What all do i have to do to change an oil pan gasket?
Let a pro do it! Here is why...Plymouth Duster Oil Pan You can use a degreaser when tracing the source of leaks in your Plymouth Duster Cheap Oil Pan since it greatly cleans the construction where traces of leaks are clearly seen. ! The gasket of the Plymouth Duster Oil Pan is very hard to replace considering the requirements the task demands such as special tools and your precious time.

If you are trying to pry with a screwdriver just to loosen the Oil Pan or tap the construction with the use of a mallet, expect to face worse problems than the trouble given by the leaks.
