Does anyone know how to remove and install an oil pan in a 1999 Mercury Cougar without lifting the engine?

this is usually not possible because their is a welded crossmember and steering linkage right under the engine. lifting the engine is not too much trouble really but it will be an all day fixDoes anyone know how to remove and install an oil pan in a 1999 Mercury Cougar without lifting the engine?

You only need to remove the exhaust pipes under the pan. Then the pan will come right out. For more detailed info need engine size 2.0 or 2.5? good luck.

What engine? Is it the 2.0L 4-cyl. or the 2.5L V6? On the V6 you don't need to lift the engine. You just need to remove the exhaust crossover pipe. Once removed, access is fairly easy.
