I have a 71 chevy 283, is it possible to change the oil pan gasket without pulling the engine?

you normally don't have to pull the engine to change a oil pan gasket , but if the oil tube is deep in the pan, the easiest way is to put the car on ramps remove a motor mount bolt and jack up the engine on the side you removed the bolt from just high enough to get the pan out, replace the gasket, replace the pan, let down the motor, put the bolt back in the mount, tighten the bolt add oil (proper ammount) and rideI have a 71 chevy 283, is it possible to change the oil pan gasket without pulling the engine?
You don't have to put the engine, you might need to get some steering components out of the way if the space is too tight thoI have a 71 chevy 283, is it possible to change the oil pan gasket without pulling the engine?
To my knowledge you dont have to pull the engine. I have a '63 Chevy Longbed with a stock 283.
All you have to do is put the vehicle on ramps or a lift, and you can get to the oil pan from under the vehicle.
you can probably change it in the car if you have an engine hoist and take the motor mounts loose and raise the engine some.
