What is the easiest way to remove old sealant off from an oil pan?

I have been fighting with it with a razor blade. Is there a chemical or something that will take it right off with a little elbow grease? What is the easiest way to remove old sealant off from an oil pan?
Get a small wire wheel and attach it to your drill,

It will take it off in minutes all the way down to clean metal, What is the easiest way to remove old sealant off from an oil pan?
Try heating it up with a heat gun before scraping. There's a few types of solvents on the market that may loosen it up, too. You'll have to try a couple of different ones because there are different types of RTV sealant and they're susceptible to different solvents. Mineral spirits, MEK, and denatured alcohol are good ones to start with. Make sure you follow all the safety precautions and remove the solvent before applying new sealant. I'd try using heat before I'd go with solvent. Please don't try heat after or you may hit the flash point on the residue. Your next question would be whether eyebrows grow back.
I just use a paint scraper and sand paper and that always gets it off but you might want to soak it in very hot water awhile that will soften it up too.

Hope that helps and best of luck.By the way the key to doing that type of work is not rushing and having patience bec the surfaces really need to be very clean and dry.
use sandpaper or try some gasket remover.
