My ';oil pump housing'; is covered under warranty. Not sure if the oil pan is, since I now have a crack in it and oil is leaking like a faucet. ThanksIs the oil pump housing and oil pan the same thing?
Oil pump housing is internal, and part of engine oil pump. Oil pan is external and called a sump. sorryIs the oil pump housing and oil pan the same thing?
depending on the make and model of your car, the pump can be either in the pan or on the front of the engine, but they are never the same piece.
no they are not the oil pump housing is the the oil pan or the sump...the housing will typically be located in a low spot of the oil pan
