What can I do to get a stripped oil pan plug off?

I was trying to unscrew the oil pan plug in my car to change the oil. I ended up stripping the damn thing. How can I get it off? What can I do to get a stripped oil pan plug off?
um u sure ur turning it the right direction?....its counter clockwise...or to the left.....

put to get it off use a air gun...or vise-grips...or take a dremel tool and cut a slot in it so u can use a flat head screw driver.....

but when u get it off ur gonna have to b careful u didnt strip the pan....

jsut for referens most GMs take 18 ft pounds of torque on the drain plugs

sum fords only 10....hondas around 18-22....and jsut for reference u can put up to 100 ft pound of torque with just a wrench....most ppl over tighten the drain plug wich is wat leads to it stripping in the first place...good luckWhat can I do to get a stripped oil pan plug off?
drill a hole in the sump plug and use a stud extractor to remove it

or weld a nut of the same size onto the stripped nut and use a socket to remove it.

These methods produce heat, to avoid the fire risk remove the oil pan and clean it out first.

These plugs are extremely tight and a flat head screwdriver wont do it.
Vise Grips (Genuine, not imitation) otherwise get a screw extractor set ( 4 or 5 piece, from a well known name brand) start small and carefully drill recommended hole, pound in screw extractor and remove plug, if necessary work your way up in drill/extractor size combos. Centerpunch it and drill straight! You may need a right-angle drill motor if you are not up high enough on jack stands. Do not drill through plug completely if at all possible! Good Luck, you can do it... and always remember ';Lefty Loosey, Righty Tighty';.
you mean the threads are stripped? if that,s what your saying then try to get the tip of a screwdriver under the head and try turning it with a wrench, it might catch thread. if it,s the head then use vice grips on it or a small pipe wrench.
Try a vice grip, they have gotten me out of alot of jams.
