But im not sure about the oil pan. What do i have to remove to get to the oil pan? Thanks!Help replacing oil pan gasket on 94 camaro?
drain your oil from pan if yours dont have cross member under it remove the 10mm bolts that hold it to the engine take a small screw driver in the corner of pan prying down slightly pan will pop loose remove and replace gasket if theres a cross member take bolts out of engine mounts take a jack under the pan with a board between the pan and jack to keep from hurting the pan jack it up as far as it will go with out breaking something put a block of wood or a brick or what ever you have between the engine and motor mount housing let your jack down then you can do like i told you with out a cross member good luckHelp replacing oil pan gasket on 94 camaro?
i change several of rear main seals. what you do is after you removed the pan, take off the main bearing cap off, take a thin screwdriver and push the top part of the seal out from the top of the crank then take the part out of the cap. get a new seal(the rubber seal is the best). install the upper seal in above the crank with the seal lip facing the front of the engine and do the same in the cap. take some high silicone sealer (the blue type) and put a dab at both ends of the seal on the cap, put the cap back on the crank and torque the bolts to specs. to get the oil pan off you might have to jack up under the engine so it will clear the pump.if your just changing the seal you don,t have to remove the crank.the timing seal, all you do is take a screwdriver and pry the seal out and tap the new seal in. 1 more thing, on the crank seal and the timing seal, oil the seals up before changing them so you won,t have a dry start up.
