Is changing an oil pan in a 2000 dodge intrepid with a 3.2 in it something a do it yourselfer can do?

its not to bad of a job on that car,you may have to loosen a mount to get one side of it up high enough to remove it but its not one of the hardest ones to do,just make sure you have the right tools to work with and can get it high enough In the air, putting it on a pair of car ramps works real well on doing this one, then remove anything thats in the way,the rest is removing it and reinstalling the new one, take your time with it and have a good repair manual handy for references to work with, good luck.Is changing an oil pan in a 2000 dodge intrepid with a 3.2 in it something a do it yourselfer can do?
Changing an oil pan is a pretty straightforward job. Unbolt the old one and scrape off the old gasket. Replace the gasket and bolt the new pan in place. Check a service manual to see how much torque to tighten the bolts and there might be a sequence to tightening them. The only things that can make it a complicated job are a frame crossmember or suspension components in the way. Look under the car to determine if that's the case with an Intrepid. Why does the original pan need replacing? Was it damaged in an accident? There isn't much else that can go wrong with an oil pan. If the problem is stripped threads at the drain it will be easier to rethread the hole and use a larger plug than to replace the pan.
