How difficult is it to change an oil pan on a 1998 Volvo SR70 Turbo?

Just checking to see if there are any crazy things that have to be done before proceeding. How difficult is it to change an oil pan on a 1998 Volvo SR70 Turbo?
Very tough. The upper oil pan is also the one piece main bearing cap. The question is ';where is the oil leak';? If it's dripping off the 4 pan bolts by the trans, it's a rear main seal. If its dripping off the middle of the engine under the turbo, it's the seals on the oil return line from the turbo. The return line is a very common issue and can be mistaken for the oil pan. It's is fairly easy to replace. The rear main is involved but not hard. Pan leaks can happen on the 5 cyl Volvo, but MAKE SURE.How difficult is it to change an oil pan on a 1998 Volvo SR70 Turbo?
david s is right, there are several common places where the oil leaks on these engines, if you have an oil leak it's unlikely that the pan is leaking. Now if the pan got hit, that's a different story, or if you need to remove it to replace the o-rings because the oil light is on, which is also very common.

To remove the oil pan you need to support the engine from the top so that you can partially drop the subframe to be able to get the pan off.
