Our 98 Ford Windstar's oil pan is rusted out and is leaking. How much work is it to replace the oil pan?

This is a simple fix. Drain the oil of course. Take off the old pan. Clean the surface of the engine where the old pan connected at. It has to be completely clean. This is important so that the new pan doesnt leak. You can probably find a oil pan for your make and model at a local junk yard for no more than 20 bucks. Make sure you clean the the surface of it as well. Get a gasket kit from your local parts store and some RTV to seal it with. The rest is self explanitary. Very easy job. Drop the oil and remove the old pan. Apply a new gasket to the new pan and reinstall and torque the bolts correctly. Add new oil.
