How do you clean out a plastic oil pan after you do an oil change? Do you just wipe with paper towels?

The best option for an oil pan is to get one with a cover. I have had one for over 20 years, never cleaned it out. After I change my oil, I take it to the collection tank at our Public Works Dept., then leave it on the shelf covered until the next oil change. Hope this helps. How do you clean out a plastic oil pan after you do an oil change? Do you just wipe with paper towels?
scrape it wipe it whatever it takes to get it clean.

If you dont have a solvent tank to clean parts, you can get a can of carburator cleaner - or brake cleaner - be carefull it comes out with a high pressure blast, let the part soak for a couple minutes and rincse clean.

I guarantee it will look like new.How do you clean out a plastic oil pan after you do an oil change? Do you just wipe with paper towels?
Hi, I just use a solvent such as brake and clutch cleaner or some sort of spirit. It doesn't really need a thorough clean if you are going to use it again its just it will smell if it will be stored indoors if not squeaky clean!
i turn mine upside down over a jug to drain it then leave it but sure you can wipe it out with anything paper towel or a old rag... ive never clean mine before its been dirty for like ten yrs
put some gas in the pan and use an old brush to clean it out and then dry it out with paper towels or an old rag.
if your talking about the drain pan then all i do is wipe it out with a rag.
